As part of our Community Grant scheme, set up to help support causes our employees are involved in, we are proud to contribute to the Norsemen FC U15 side.

A local grassroots youth football side, Norsemen required funding for tour tops ahead of playing in a tournament.

Norsemen tour manager, Natalia Kelly, said:

We are extremely grateful to JSM. This will be the boys’ last season together so the tops will hold special significance for players and parents alike.

JSM Group Services is proud to champion our communities and contribute to meaningful change. We are excited to continue our Community Grant initiatives and work alongside local organisations to build a brighter future.

JSM Group Services is proud to announce our recent support for Basildon Phoenix Swimming Club through a sports grant, supporting financial stability during the refurbishment of their home pool at Basildon Sporting Village.

Led by former Olympian Doug Campbell, the club provides top tier coaching to over 400 swimmers, from young learners to international competitors. As Essex and the East Region’s leading swim club, they rely on hosting galas for essential funding. With the pool closing for over five months from April 2025, this income source has been disrupted.

Our grant, part of the Community Grant initiative, will help the club through this period. We remain committed to supporting local organisations and making a lasting impact.

We’re excited to share that we recently hosted a community engagement event to inform local residents about upcoming essential upgrade works of the existing gas mains and services in the area (Gas Upgrade 037).

The event was a great opportunity to connect with the community, answer questions, and provide important information on how these upgrades will enhance safety and service reliability for everyone.

At JSM Group Services Ltd. we’re committed to keeping the community informed every step of the way. We understand that these upgrades are crucial, and we’re working hard to minimise disruption and ensure smooth progress.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us – your feedback and engagement are invaluable!

The customer event for our works in the local area was a great success. We were delighted to meet with more than 120 people in the two sessions spread throughout the day.

said Michael Pierce, Operations Manager, JSM Group Services Ltd.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward with these important works. If you have any questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out!

The Ridge Off Roader is a challenging 10k charity trail race across the beautiful Chiltern Hills, organised by a voluntary committee all proceeds go towards supporting the Bledlow Ridge School Association.

Over 300 runners participated in this year’s race that marked their 10th anniversary. JSM are currently developing the former Molin’s site near Bledlow Ridge and were really excited to be able to support the local school and community by sponsoring the overall event and half-marathon race.

The funds raised by JSM have been used to purchase a much-needed new suite of laptops for the 170+ children at the school. We also provided flooring to help with the smooth running of the day.

Mrs Natasha Harrison, Headteacher at Bledlow Ridge School comments:

It’s such a joyful day for the school and for runners alike. We have a great community that come together to deliver the event and that takes lots of hard work but JSM sponsorship has made a great contribution to our fundraising this year.

JSM Group Services is proud to announce our recent support for Friends of Riverside Primary School through a generous donation, helping to enhance their fundraising efforts for the school’s initiatives. This contribution aligns with our commitment to community engagement and support.

In 2023, JSM Group Services introduced the Community Grant initiative to support our employees and the communities they are part of. This program includes various initiatives such as matching sponsorships for fundraising events and providing funding for amateur sports teams. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.

The school expressed their gratitude for our support and shared the positive outcome of the event:

We are immensely grateful to JSM Group Services for their generous donation, which played a crucial role in the success of our Summer Raffle as it made £882. The funds raised will greatly benefit our students and the school’s ongoing projects. JSM support helps us continue providing valuable resources and opportunities to our community.

JSM Group Services is committed to supporting our communities and making a difference. We look forward to continuing our Community Grant initiatives and partnering with local organisations to create positive change.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle and contributed to its success. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community.

JSM Group Services have boosted local friends fundraising efforts in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The Sheffield based Comms Supervisor for JSM, Ross Lamkin, and his eight friends were able to utilise the ‘Snap Sponsorship’ initiative to boost their fundraising efforts for Prostate Cancer UK as part of The Big Golf Race 2024.

In 2023, JSM introduced the Community Grant initiatives to support their employees and the communities they’re part of. There are four different initiatives that form Community Grants, this includes matching sponsorships for fundraising events along with providing funding for amateur sports teams.

Ross and his golfing friends have so far raised over £2,500 for Prostate Cancer UK and hope to see more added to the total in the coming days. In total, they covered a distance of over 24 miles, taking approximately 44,000 steps each.

Ross says;

It’s an important cause because prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it doesn’t have to be this way. My friends and I are taking on The Big Golf Race to help raise money and awareness of prostate cancer to keep men in the game for longer. Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find better tests to diagnose men sooner. Thank you for your support. We’re pleased to raise money while playing the sport we love.

JSM were recently approached by Beechfield Primary School in Watford with a request for donations to help them develop a construction play area for the early years playground.

Our depot team put together a selection of road signs, cones, barriers, and duct that the school could use to build their construction area.

Rachael Morgan, Reception Teacher at Beechfield School said:

“Thank you to JSM for the construction donations for our early years garden! We can’t wait to get them into our garden and being used.”

Recently JSM were approached by a local resident to help provide aggregates to fill and level the access roads at Kenton Lane Allotments in Harrow-Weald.

The allotment community members ages range from 1 year old to the eldest plot holder being 97 years old so the safety of members accessing the allotments was vital.

Kate Williams site representative and honorary secretary for the allotments said:

“The allotment community site offers exercise, the chance to grow fruit, veg and the opportunity to educate the children of the families on our site of where their food comes from. The biggest thing it helps with is positive mental health.”

Honouring our commitment to help our local communities we arranged to have 100T of Type 1 aggregate delivered to the allotments. Residents were extremely grateful for the goodwill gesture and look forward to safely accessing their beloved allotments.

Claire Parsons our Environmental Manager visited the allotment and said:

“I met Kate, Helen and Alan from the Kenton Lane allotment team and they were very community spirited people with a passion for growing fruit and veg! They really appreciated the support that JSM gave them and are looking forward to their access road being re-built using the Type 1 JSM donated.”

Following the delivery of the aggregates Kate Williams said:

“Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to JSM for coming to the rescue of local allotment holders, whose site road was unfit for purpose. Following JSM’s generous contribution to making our roadway safer for our plot holders and families ”

JSM Group awards community grant to help raise funds for annual school trip.

In line with our commitment to being an employer of choice, we have a community grant scheme open to all employees at JSM.

We’ve proudly sponsored JSM employee Padraic Garvin through our community grant scheme. A group of students from St Michaels School undertook a 10 mile hike across the Ashridge Estate.

Student Katie said: “Huge thank you to JSM for their sponsorship”

The Mighty Hike was taken on by the group to help the school raise over £9,000 towards their annual trip to Lourdes.

JSM were approached by Laurence Haines primary school in Watford with a request for donations to help them develop a construction play area for their pupils.

Justin Wall, Depot Manager at River Road, and Claire Parsons, Environmental Manager, worked together to source a set of old signs and cones from our operational depot in Barking. Justin then arranged for a member of his team to deliver the items on Wednesday 14th February.

After the school approached us, Justin and I scoped out some suitable signs and cones at River Road depot, to take to the school. We chose things that would be safe for them to play with, of varying colours that they can hopefully have fun with.

says Claire Parsons, Environmental Manager.
